Multi Agency Liquor Enforcement Study (MALES)
The key objective of MALES is to assess whether there is potential
to enhance the harm minimisation effects of multi-agency efforts
by adjusting the intensity of monitoring and enforcement activities;
and to identify any common factors that positively impact
on their effectiveness. The study will analyse the impact
of ‘heightened’ versus ‘normal’ monitoring
and enforcement activity at licensed premises at three sites
in New Zealand and measure the incidence of alcohol-related
offending, victimisation and other measures of harm against
this impact.
