Reduced CO2 from Sustainable Household Travel Research Programme

(Funded by the Foundation for Research Science and Technology and undertaken in association with OPUS International)

The strategic intent of the Reduced CO2 from Sustainable Household Travel Research Programme is to achieve a sustained reduction in the CO2 emissions generated by domestic transport, while ensuring that New Zealanders are able to enjoy the benefits of an effective transport system.

SHORE researchers have prepared the following reports relating to the central objectives of the programme which are to identify the causes of the observed growth in fuel consumption by relating it to accessibility demands, to the reliance on private motor vehicles and to social and behavioural aspects particular to NZ culture.
