Behaviours Survey 2003, Module Four: Alcohol Use
The aim of this survey was to provide national population
data on levels of alcohol use and alcohol related harm in
New Zealand. The interview included sections on alcohol consumption,
non-commercial alcohol production and duty free alcohol purchase
and consumption, supply to those under the minimum purchase
age (from off-licensed premises and social supply), requests
for ID and refusal to sell alcohol, alcohol-related harm from
others’ and own drinking, perceptions of alcohol use,
abstention from alcohol, alcohol and pregnancy, alcohol help
seeking behaviour, demographics and a range of general health
and well being questions. The survey was the fourth module
of the Ministry of Health’s ten year health surveying
strategy
